About UsThe Gem Gallery, located in downtown Bozeman, Montana, was founded in 1995 by Don Baide, and specializes in creating custom jewelry in gold, platinum and palladium. We are proud to feature one of the largest collections of brilliant, all-natural Yogo Sapphires in America. Produced from only one mine in the world, the Vortex Mine, located in central Montana, the Yogo Sapphire exemplifies a truly rare gem. Ninety-five percent of the world's sapphires must be treated with heat to achieve the brilliant colors for which sapphires are known, but the gorgeous Yogo sapphires featured at The Gem Gallery are never treated. They represent to gemologists the absolute best quality of completely natural sapphires.
Also featured are Fancy Montana sapphires that come in every color of the rainbow, and can be either natural or treated. They are produced by three other mining areas located throughout Montana, separate from the mine which produces Yogo sapphires: Dry Cottonwood, Missouri River, and Rock Creek. Unlike Yogo sapphires, Fancy Montana Sapphires can be mined and found by the public. The Gem Gallery offers services in heat-treating and cutting for rough Fancy Montana sapphires to the public.
The Gem Gallery offers a variety of diamonds, but specifically featured are ideal cut, hearts-and-arrows, and Star 129 cut diamonds that achieve maximum brilliance and light refraction. The Gem Gallery also has the resources to find diamonds specific to your requirements in size, clarity, color, and even rare cuts such as the Cushion cut and the Asscher cut.
The Gem Gallery's creative goldsmiths design distinctive custom Yogo Sapphire jewelry, as we as diamond bridal/engagement sets specific to customers' needs and desires. Beautiful and elaborate hand-engraving in any configuration imaginable is available through Ben Knight, Philip Devitt is knowledgeable in the Japanese technique of "Mokume Gane," which incorporates the fusion of different metals, creating an interesting and uniquely intricate pattern. | |
